Attention New Rimpage Athlete!
You've stepped onto a new kind of court.
Forget everything you knew about organized basketball.
At Rimpage, we're not just playing a game;
we're returning to the essence of competition.
This page is your essential guide to
transforming from a Hooper into a Hunter.
1. The Call of the Wild: From Zoo to Hunter
Imagine this: You are a magnificent lion, born and raised in a zoo. Every meal is meticulously portioned and delivered. Every movement is watched and controlled by handlers. Your days are structured by rigid schedules and predictable routines. You know comfort, safety, and a complete absence of true challenge. This is the only reality you've ever known.
Now, imagine the gates to that zoo have swung open. You are no longer in the comfortable, controlled enclosure. You are in the vast, untamed wilderness. There are no keepers. There are no schedules. There is no comfort. Here, the rule is brutally simple: you hunt or you starve. You only eat what you kill. You must fend for yourself. The wild has its own laws, and to survive—to thrive—you must adapt.
1.1 From Hooper (Zoo Lion) to Hunter (Wild Lion)
In traditional basketball, you join a team, and a schedule is given to you. You wait for games. You are told when, where, and how to play. This is precisely like that lion in the zoo: fed on schedule, meals decided for them, never truly having to hunt for themselves.
But you, as a Rimpage athlete, are different. You are that zoo lion, now released. You are not a hooper; you are a hunter.
Consider the powerful truth of the wild lion:
-
The wild lion operates on a simple creed: "If I want something to eat, I go get it. And if I want more, I go get it. And if I want something different, I go get it." This means to chase it, fight it, grab it, tear it, drag it home, and then eat.
-
The wild lion's powerful claws, legs, and teeth reveal its purpose: "You were made to hunt."
1.2 Your Purpose: To Hunt and Conquer
This is what Rimpage is: a return to the wild. You didn't come to hoop; you came to conquer. Every aspiration in basketball—fame, fortune, respect, rankings, milestone victories, and legacy—all stem from one thing: winning.
Therefore, the number one most important activity of a Rimpage athlete is hunting: finding, challenging, and defeating other players. You are on the prowl. This is your new reality. This is how you will eat.
1.3 The Lion's Creed: Define, Dominate, Impose
The wild teaches two crucial lessons about true dominance:
-
Territoriality: You Take What's Yours. In the wild, no authority figure designates a lion's territory. No one gives him his kingdom. He takes it. By defining its boundaries through his presence, fiercely defending it against all challengers, and utterly dominating it, he makes it his own. If anyone disagrees, they must physically take it from him. On the Rimpage court, your territory is earned, not given.
-
-
Imposition: Altering Reality. The prey does not agree to be hunted. They do not cooperate with the hunter. The hunter doesn't ask for permission; he imposes his agenda. He literally alters the prey's reality—from seeing themselves as free to understanding they are food. This is a profound form of dominance. As a Rimpage hunter, you impose your will on your opponent, altering their reality of the match.
"Above all the predators in the wild, the lion is king. No one gives him his kingdom. He takes it! He defines it. He defends it. He fiercely dominates it. He's fully convinced it is his territory. If you disagree, go take it from him."
This is the mindset you must embody as a Rimpage champion. Your survival, your success, and your legacy depend on it.

2. The Code of Honor:
Your Guiding Star in the Wild
In the wild, there are no referees or officials. Your compass is the Rimpage Code of Honor. It is the very foundation that allows us to find the truth of "who is better."

2.1 The Quest for Truth
-
Establishing Fact: Rimpage exists to establish the truth. Opinions about skill are meaningless until proven correct. Our 1-on-1 matches raise opinion to the glorious, consequential status of established fact.
-
-
The Interdependent Triangle: A Rimpage match involves three interdependent components: Rimpage (rules/format) and the two players. Each relies on the honor of the other two to produce a result that is true, legitimate, and valuable.
2.2 The Purity of Competition
-
"Containing Nothing That Does Not Belong": Rimpage contests must be pure. This means the outcome must be determined solely by your skill, effort, and adherence to honorable play.
-
-
Rejecting Impure Results: An impure result—one tainted by dishonesty or factors outside of legitimate skill—is a "non-real thing." It is that which is not. It holds no value.
2.3 Integrity Above All:
When Losing is Better Than Winning
-
The Core Principle: "Better to lose and retain one's honor than to win and lose one's honor. This is the spirit of Rimpage."
-
-
True Professionalism: We do not seek players who only play fair when forced by a rule or official. Our athletes compete with inherent honor and integrity.
-
-
Growth Through Honorable Defeat: An honorable loss is not a failure. It is an opportunity to examine your defeat and find within it "the seed of success in future matches," driving you to become a better athlete and preserving the honor of your profession. Cheating, conversely, reveals doubt in your own ability and is a disservice to the game and yourself.
3. Mastering the Hunt:
Rimpage Match Play Essentials
Your journey as a hunter means taking initiative and understanding the unique rules of the Rimpage wild.

3.1 Your Match, Your Control: Player Autonomy
-
Self-Scheduling: You have complete control. You decide if, when, who, and where you play your Rimpage matches. There is no external schedule.
-
-
Flexible Play: Play 10 matches a week or 10 a year; indoors or outdoors; against Rimpage players or non-Rimpage players (age 15+). The choice is yours.
-
-
Strategic Challenges: While you can play anyone, Rimpage's ratings system rewards you for challenging tougher competition. Avoid "easy wins" against significantly weaker opponents.
-
-
Court Requirements: Play on any court with sufficient markings, a level playing surface, regulation-approximate size (2pt line, shot boxes), and a good rim and backboard.
-
-
Mutual Agreement: Both players must agree to the conditions and rules before the match officially begins.
3.2 Standard Match Rules
-
Length of Match: Matches are played until one player scores 12 points or until 25 rounds expire, whichever comes first.
-
-
Winning Condition (Standard):
-
If a player reaches 12 points, they win.
-
If no player scores 12 points by Round 25, the highest score wins.
-
If tied at Round 25, the player who reached that highest score first is the winner.
-
-
Decus Pro Matches: For our elite Decus Pro matches, there is no limit on rounds, allowing for pure endurance and skill contests.
3.3 The Self-Officiating System in Practice
Since there are no referees, integrity rests with you.
-
Call Fouls IMMEDIATELY: You must call your own fouls within 3 seconds of the foul occurring. If not called within 3 seconds, in the eyes of Rimpage, it didn't happen, and you lose the opportunity.
-
-
One Free Intentional Foul: Each player gets one free strategic intentional foul per match.
-
After this, any additional intentional foul results in the offensive player being awarded one free throw PLUS possession of the ball.
-
If a basket is made during an intentional foul, the basket counts, and the free throw and possession are still awarded.
-
-
-
You Only Call Your Own Fouls: You cannot call a foul for your opponent. If you foul your opponent but he/she chooses not to call it, then in the eyes of Rimpage, that foul never happened, and play must continue. The opponent who committed the foul must accept the decision of the player who was fouled to either call it or to play on.
-
-
Respect Calls: Always respect each other's calls. Play with honor. Let your skill, not disputes, determine the outcome.
-
-
Spirit of Fair Play: If a specific rule doesn't cover a situation, always be governed by the spirit of fair, honest, and honorable competition. Violations of this spirit can result in corrective action from Rimpage.
3.4 Documenting Your Conquests: Video Evidence
Video is your proof, your "war log," and essential for integrity.
-
Film Your Matches: It is mandatory to film your matches. This camera and tripod are not for vanity; they are for crucial documentation – the receipts of your conquests.
-
-
On-Camera Dispute Resolution: Strive to settle all disputes on camera and DURING the match. This ensures transparency and immediate resolution. If a matter cannot be resolved after 3 minutes of discussion, end the match.
3.5 Resolving Disputes & Forfeits
-
Appeal to Rimpage: If an opponent refuses to follow a rule, or a dispute cannot be resolved on court, you may end the match and appeal to Rimpage to force a forfeit.
-
-
Video Evidence is Required: Any appeal for a forced forfeit must be supported with clear video evidence from the match. Without video, Rimpage cannot intervene.
4. Your Path to Mastery: Progression
& Purpose
Rimpage is about more than just winning; it's about building a sustainable career and a lasting legacy.
4.1 The Diamond Formula: From Hunter on the Court to Hunter Off the Court
Rimpage defines a professional athlete as:
a business professional who builds a personal entertainment brand to convert athletic ability into generational wealth.
The Diamond Formula is your blueprint for this journey. Just as you hunt and conquer on the court, you must bring that same
go-get-what-you-want mentality to the world of business. The rules of the wild extend to your financial conquests.
The Top Triangle (Initial Imperatives):
-
Train: Develop superior, valuable basketball skills.
-
Compete: Test your skills against real-world competition.
-
Exposure: Get noticed! Perform greatly on a big stage.
If you master these, you unlock the next stage...
The Bottom Triangle (Outcome Imperatives):
-
Negotiate: Convert the attention you've gained into transactions – understand how to get paid for your skill.
-
Build Your Brand: Deliver on your promises. Consistently entertain fans with your amazing skill, inspire them by overcoming challenges, and give them something to believe in by being a reliable winner.
-
Expand: Learn to manage and grow your money, making it work for you to achieve generational wealth.
4.2 Motion Arts Styles: Unleash Your Unique Game
Rimpage values and recognizes your individual playing style. We categorize distinct "Motion Arts Styles"—much like martial arts—to celebrate the unique ways players achieve success. Your style is defined by your offensive tempo, dribble attack, go-to strategies, shooting catalog, and overall versatility. Your unique Motion Arts Style will be featured on your Rimpage profile.
4.3 Battle Cards & Legacy: Documenting
Your Greatness
Whenever you achieve something noteworthy in Rimpage, you earn a Battle Card. These are like digital trophies, commemorating historic moments and significant milestones, such as:
-
Being the first to 100, 200, or 300 career wins.
-
Reaching the 1000, 2000, or 3000 point clubs.
-
Achieving an undefeated season.
These Battle Cards are displayed in the "Legacy" section of your online profile, serving as undeniable proof of your conquests and contributing to your lasting legacy.
4.4 Rimpage Ratings System: Building Your
Wall, Brick by Brick
Your Rimpage Rating is like a brick wall. Your ultimate goal is to build your brick wall taller and stronger than everyone else’s.
How do you do this? By tearing down everyone else’s wall and using their bricks to build your own. You accomplish this by defeating them in certified Rimpage matches
.
-
Earning Bricks: One rating point is one brick. Each time you defeat an opponent, you take a certain amount of points (bricks) away from them, thereby shrinking their wall and building yours.
-
The Tougher the Hunt, the Greater the Reward: When you defeat a player who has more bricks than you (a higher rating), you are awarded significantly more of their bricks than you would receive by defeating a weaker opponent (who has a lower rating than you). Think of it like this: a lion who takes down a buffalo is rewarded far more than the lion who captures a rabbit. The buffalo makes for a tougher hunt, but the reward is proportionately greater.
-
Ratings Classes: All players begin in the first of eight ratings classes with an initial rating of 1000. You graduate to the next ratings class upon achieving specific rating thresholds:
-
Reach 1400 rating to graduate to the next class.
-
Reach 1800 rating to graduate to the next class.
-
... and so on, up to a rating of 4000 to graduate into Sani Veit, the highest and most elite ratings class.
-
-
Supremacy Score & Rankings: Your city, regional, national, and international rankings are determined by Rimpage's secret "1Champion Formula," which calculates your Supremacy Score. This score is the ultimate determinant of a player's rank.
Your Journey as a Hunter
Begins Now.
You have the knowledge. You understand the Code. You know the rules of the Wild. The zoo gates are open. The wild awaits.
